Happy Endings

Posted September 28, 2011

I don't normally get to mix business with pleasure, but today was a pleasing exception.  I am currently working with my favourite ski hill, Mt. Cain, to design and build a new sewage treatment and disposal system.  Today was made all the better by the fact that I pulled my son out of school and took him with me.  Before I forget, there was also NEW SNOW on the mountain!!!

Yes - that is indeed snow on top of Cain, Abel and the rest of the peaks in the area.  All the way down to below the top of the upper tee-bar!

Today's mission was to meet the proposed sewage treatment technology provider, assess the soil conditions and hash out a plan for installation.  I realized again how much I enjoy getting off the grid and how free it feels to be up there.

Cole helps measure the water as it percolates into the soil.

There is still some engineering to do, but it should all be wrapped up pretty quickly.  Now, I am sure  you are all wondering about Car Free Sunday.  Well, it was a total success!  Very much looking forward to doing it again next year...at least twice!

My day job...very exciting dirt in a zip lock container!
